Team Profiles : Mark Moran & Peter Pigot

Mark is a Chemical Engineer by profession originally from Edenderry in Co Offaly. He has played international bridge at Junior level with Tom Hanlon amongst others and then retired! He has worked in the Netherlands for a number of years and following that took up a position as CEO of one of Ireland’s main private hospitals, the Mater in Dublin, from which he retired early in 2006. Despite his earlier experiences, he has returned to playing bridge in Ireland at a very high level being part of the CBAI team that won the Camrose in 2005. Mark was also the NPC when Ireland won the Camrose in 2000 and so can draw on his experience from all aspects!!

Peter Pigot has established a partnership with Mark Moran over the last number of years and was also part of the 2005 Camrose winning team. A journalist, printer and golfer of top quality, he follows in his late father’s, also Peter, footsteps in keeping the Pigot name at the forefront of Irish bridge.
